Medical appliances: New Hampshire’s delta hospital uses new technology to deliver medical products
New Hampshire is the latest state to use a patented medical device to deliver medicines to its residents.
The new technology, called delta, is used to deliver drugs to patients in remote parts of the country and has been used to help treat Ebola patients in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
Delta’s patented technology is the most advanced in the US and uses a combination of a vacuum pump and an electric motor to deliver medicine.
The company is based in San Diego, California, and is working on a larger-scale version in a bid to bring its technology to other countries.
Deltas medical devices team includes researchers from the University of California San Diego and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
