New Zealand’s latest medical appliances store opens with 2,000 units
The New Zealand Medical Appliances (NZMA) store, which opened in Christchurch on Saturday, will offer medical appliances from the countrys oldest manufacturers including Mopar, General Electric, Philips, and others.
“The addition of these products will further our efforts to provide NZMA customers with affordable and accessible medical appliances,” NZMA chief executive John Hogg said.
The store is located on the second floor of the existing Wellington Medical and Surgical Centre and has 1,000 capacity.
As well as the medical appliances, the store also sells home health products including a range of heating and air conditioning, vacuum cleaners, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and a range on home electronics.
The opening of the store comes on the back of a strong demand for medical equipment and equipment for the home.
“We are very excited about this new location,” Hogg told media at the opening.
He said the store had a high profile among health professionals and was the first of its kind in the country.
“We have seen strong interest in our products from our patients in New Zealand and internationally,” Hagg said.
“We want to help our customers enjoy the products that they use most in their daily lives.”
NZMA had a strong presence in the United States last year with the opening of its first medical appliances shop at the New York Public Library.
It also recently announced the creation of a new store in New York City to cater for healthcare providers and patients.
The company is also investing heavily in its home health and personal care products business.
New Zealand is one of the most expensive countries in the world for medical appliances and healthcare products, according to the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA).
It is also one of only three countries in which medical equipment prices are unaffordable.
But Hogg says the new store is not just about the cost of the products, but also the convenience of purchasing them.
“The more affordable we can make our products, the better off our patients will be and we will see a higher return on investment for our patients,” he said.
Hogg said that he expected the new Wellington store would provide a lot of competition to rival the existing Auckland store.
In February, the Wellington Medical Centre announced it was setting up its own medical appliance store, offering a range from home appliances to medical equipment.
