How to clean up after a leaky gas leak
A gas leak that sent thousands of litres of methane into the atmosphere and caused a gas-pump rupture is being investigated by the Ontario government.
The gas leak was discovered Saturday near the town of Lillooet, Ont.
The leak caused a pump to fail, sending methane gas into the air and threatening to shut down the region’s water supply.
The province says it is investigating whether the leak contributed to the gas leak, which is being considered a public health emergency.
The Ontario Energy Board says it’s taking samples and will present its findings to the province’s Public Health Emergency Task Force later this month.
